Jerome is very sympathetic to the Greenpeace cause, and
along with Robson Green met Greenpeace activists outside the French embassy in
Knightsbridge to join their personal protest against French nuclear testing in
the Pacific.
Robson & Jerome presented a cheque
to Greenpeace for £18,000 worth of royalties from initial sales of Unchained Melody
(pictured above). In total, royalties amounting to £27,000 were finally donated
to Greenpeace by the lads. It gave Jerome particular pleasure. "The enviroment
we live in is everything we have", he explained. "In fact we're not separate from
it. Greenpeace is desperate to preserve the enviroment from the constant abuse
we throw at it. Therefore helping Geenpeace is helping ourselves."
Greenpeace were delighted to have such generous and public support from the two
for their campaigns against environmental abuses. Jerome has long been associated
with Greenpeace and both the lads took a keen interest in the long campaign against
French testing as well as the sponsored 'Walk for the Whales'.

Greenpeace
is funded purely by individual donations, and all campaigns have a common purpose:
to protect the natural world from environmental abuses through the use of non-violent
direct lobbying. Jerome's concern for the enviroment is heartfelt and Greenpeace
hopes to continue working with him to highlight how individuals really can make
a difference to the world we live in.
